1. Check Your JAMB Result Using SMS
Certainly, it is highly likely that you have already checked your JAMB result through SMS as soon as it was released by the board. If that’s the case, then search for the SMS on your phone and locate your JAMB registration number within it.
However, if you have lost or accidentally deleted the SMS, you can still retrieve it. You simply need to repeat the same process of checking your JAMB result through SMS.
To do this, simply send or text the keyword “UTME RESULT” to the shortcode 55019. You will be charged a fee of #50 and the SMS containing your JAMB registration number and scores will be sent to you promptly. It is essential to note that the process for retrieving your JAMB registration number through SMS is fast and straightforward.

2. Recheck the Email Inbox or Spam Used for JAMB Reg.
During the JAMB UTME or DE registration process, each candidate is required to provide an email address. This email address is then linked to the JAMB portal, allowing candidates to receive important messages from JAMB, including their JAMB registration slip and profile details. If you have not yet linked your email to the JAMB portal, you can follow the procedures outlined in this post to do so.
Once your email is linked, you can log in to your email account to retrieve your JAMB registration slip or profile details. This slip contains your JAMB registration number, among other important information, and is sent to you by JAMB immediately after your UTME/DE application is submitted by the CBT center, or after linking your email to the JAMB portal.
In the event that you have lost your JAMB registration slip, you can retrieve it by logging into your email account and using the email search function. Simply enter the keyword “JAMB slip” in the search box and click “search” or hit “enter” on your device. Your email system will then display a list of messages sent to you by JAMB or containing the term “JAMB.” Look for the message with an attachment (📎) or any JAMB message that was sent on the day you linked your email. Download the slip and you will find your JAMB registration number on it.
3. Use JAMB Phone Number to Reprint JAMB Exams Slip
On your JAMB registration or exam slip, you can easily find your JAMB registration number. However, situations may arise where you’ve lost or forgotten your registration number. In such cases, you can follow the steps provided in my previous post titled “Lost JAMB SIM/Line, Reg/Exams/Change Slip? Get it Back!” to retrieve your lost UTME/DE registration slip.
If those methods do not work, don’t worry. JAMB has provided an official link that can help you retrieve your exam number. All you have to do is visit the link, enter your phone number and click “Print Exam Slip.” A new window will pop up containing your exam slip, and your JAMB registration and exam number will be displayed on it.
So if you’ve lost or forgotten your JAMB registration number, don’t panic. Follow these steps, and you’ll be able to retrieve it easily.
4. Use Email to Reprint JAMB Exam Slip
To retrieve your JAMB registration number, you can use the email address that you used to register for JAMB. If you have forgotten your phone number or lost it, this is a great alternative.
To do this, you will need to go to the JAMB exam slip reprinting link and enter the email address that you used for JAMB registration. Once you have entered your email, click on the “Print Examination Slip” button. This will open a new window containing your exam slip, which will include your JAMB registration and exam numbers.
By using this method, you can easily retrieve your JAMB registration number without the need for your phone number.

5. Recheck the JAMB Change of Institutions/Courses Slip
If you have previously done a JAMB change of institution or course, and received a slip confirming your changes, your JAMB registration number can also be found on that slip.
This slip is typically only given to candidates who have made changes to their JAMB choices, which includes providing details on the institutions and courses they have newly selected. If you have this slip, then your JAMB registration number is already in your possession.
6. Log in to JAMB Profile and Check Under CAPS
Accessing your JAMB profile is another way to retrieve your JAMB registration number. First, you need to link your email address to your JAMB profile. Once you have done that, you can log in to your JAMB profile and proceed to your JAMB CAPS (Central Admission Processing System).
In the JAMB CAPS section, click on the “Admission Status” link, and you will see your JAMB details, including your JAMB registration number. If you haven’t linked your email address to your JAMB profile, you may not be able to log in to the profile or CAPS. So make sure you do that first before attempting to access your JAMB registration number through this method.
