BUILD Nigeria is a non-profit and non-governmental organization that aims to fill the gap in access to higher education in Nigeria by establishing large-scale cohort programs to bring high-achieving, low-income pre-college students to Provide access to resources. BUILD Nigeria ensures admission to world-class universities, including but not limited to US universities, and provides full financial support. They fund the entire university application process, from exam fees to visa costs.
Their vision is to aid a globally educated, highly skilled, connected, and influential community of young Nigerians. They are ready to make a difference in their communities, countries, and the world at large.

Criteria for Application
1. Be from low-income households OR are first generation (first in their family to attend college/university). The term low-income here is used to reflect the Nigerian standard, i.e students who otherwise may not be able to afford to attend university in Nigeria
2. Be in SS2 or in SS3 and willing to take a gap
3. Be high-achieving, and can show that they have a remarkable academic performance since they began secondary school
4. Demonstrate a commitment to the demands of the cohort programming, both virtual and in-person, which may include up to 3 hours of video chat per week and other virtual commitments such as essay writing workshops
5. Be target-oriented with the potential to be able to express their ideas, opinions, and beliefs effectively and convincingly, as well as possess the potential for great interpersonal skills
6. Demonstrate a desire and commitment to making a positive difference in Nigeria. We are seeking students who are passionate about and dedicated to transforming Nigeria
7. Have a basic understanding and compelling reason for wanting to attend a top US college
